A Yttrium Aluminium Garnate (YAG) laser is used to disrupt and cut the opaque vitreous strands into much smaller fragments. This is a safe and non-invasive procedure, with minimal energy use, so the risks to the eye are very rare.

Floaters are common and initially troublesome, but they can become less obvious with time. Although usually harmless, they should be treated. About 1% of the population develop symptoms of floaters and the most common cause is vitreous syneresis.

Some eye problems like lid lumps, painful or burning eyes, dry eyes, raised eye pressure, optic nerve problems, flashing lights, floaters, can not be put into one special service. During an appointment we can decide, which methods fit best to your problem.
