Uveitis or Inflammatory eye diseases can create a blurred vision, dark spots that are floating in the vision, eye pain, redness of the eye, loss of peripheral vision sensitivity to light or headaches. Uveitis occurs most frequently in people ages 20 to 50.
Intravitreal injections is a common treatment for eye diseases such as Age-related macular degeneration, diabetic disease or other eye conditions. Intravitreal injections can be Eylea, Lucentis, Avastin, Ozurdex, Iluvien and Ocriplasmin.
A Yttrium Aluminium Garnate (YAG) laser is used to disrupt and cut the opaque vitreous strands into much smaller fragments. This is a safe and non-invasive procedure, with minimal energy use, so the risks to the eye are very rare.
Floaters are common and initially troublesome, but they can become less obvious with time. Although usually harmless, they should be treated. About 1% of the population develop symptoms of floaters and the most common cause is vitreous syneresis.
